MIND Wellness Series 2022

MIND Wellness Series 2022

In October 2021, UWIchoice members participated in the Student Services Design Activity to help the Office of Student Services to understand students’ mental health challenges and design services to support their mental wellbeing. During the survey, members explained that (1) reduced motivation to study and (2) stress/ anxiety were among the most common challenges that students were facing. As a result, when planning its 2022 MIND Wellness Series, the OSS has included a session on motivation - Grit & Growth Mindset – The missing piece of the puzzle to motivation and three sessions dealing with managing and minimising anxiety – Managing Low Mood and Anxiety, Managing Self to Manage My Stress and Maximize your Time, Increase your Output.

Members also highlighted challenges related to academic failure. With this in mind, the workshop series has also been specifically designed to enhance students’ academic persistence and achievement. Three sessions address this theme: Study Smarter not Harder, Taking Effective Notes and Reading Effectively.

The sessions have been scheduled from March 9th to April 6th 2022 and some presentations will be recorded so that students can view them at their convenience. To sign up for a session, click here.

UWIchoice members’ input has been invaluable to enhancing mental health support services on Campus!
